We took over an old smokehouse and spent a year perfecting the product and building the brand before relocation to Waiheke Island. 10 Knots smokes daily at its factory on Waiheke Island using only natural ingredients.

Owned by James Siddle and Mike Stewart, 10 Knots is named after an ideal wind speed.
James loves fishing and Mike loves sailing, they were walking on Onetangi beach when they came up with the name 10 Knots, which they think sums up the smokehouse and the owners' connection to the sea.
